To honour the memory of the late Dick Cummings, the Australian Bridge Federation has inaugurated a prestigious new gold point event, to be known as the Dick Cummings Blue Ribbon Pairs.
It will be a match-pointed pairs tournament, to be held over the weekend immediately preceding the 2000 Spring National Open Teams in Sydney next November. The ABF's Tournament Committee is currently finalising regulations for the tournament, but the format will be two qualifying rounds on the Saturday, and two final rounds, plus ancillary events for non-qualifiers, on the Sunday.
