Orbis Seniors Exhibition Teams, Bermuda, 08-15 January, 2000 |
At the World Championships in Lille, the WBF Executive Council decided that a Seniors Exhibition Match should be held in Bermuda 2000 with a view to organising a Seniors Bermuda Bowl in future years. This is a significant advance in recognition of the importance of seniors within the bridge community.
The senior's event will run concurrently with the Bermuda Bowl and Venice Cup.
Six teams will compete.
Zone 7 will be represented by an Australian team comprising Neville Moses (Captain), John Brockwell, John Ashworth, John Mottram, Bill Westwood and Robert Evans. This is the winning four-person team of the 1998 and 1999 National Seniors Teams Championship supplemented by Bill Westwood and Robert Evans. The team will also play in the Orbis World Transnational Open Teams to be held from 16-21 January in which the highest ranking Senior Team will receive special recognition.
