Playoff Adjustments The dates for the PABF are now scheduled for June 18-28. The ABF has considered representations from some of the players in the nominated teams and has decided to adopt the adjustments for the playoffs as outlined in the document below: Convention Cards Convention cards for the 2009 Australian Team Selection Playoffs must be created using the ABF Convention Card Editor available on the the System Cards page of this website and then uploaded to the website using the Upload ABF Convention Card link below. Please consult the ABF System Regulations to correctly classify your system. declarations for the 2009 Open Playoff can be found in the documents below: 2009 Open Playoff - Division Two Nomination Form Division One entries (based on PQP) closed on Thursday, December 11, 2008. Division Two
Entries will be posted on the website on March 2, 9 and 16. Should the entry for Division 2 be eight teams or fewer, the first stage will be played as a round robin. Should the entry be 9-12 teams the first stage will be played as a 6 round swiss. Should the entry be greater than 12 teams, the first stage will be played as an 8 round swiss Subsidies The ABF Management Committee (upon recommendation from the Finance Committee) has decided that non Sydney-resident players from Division Two teams that are unsuccessful in reaching the last six teams in the Open Playoffs (ie are not one of the two successful Division Two teams) will receive a 50% travel subsidy - information on the full travel subsidy amounts is already in the General Information circular on the ABF website. Note. There is no entry to the Open Playoff from the "Last Train" event in January, 2009. The Women's Playoff will be held in Sydney, Saturday to Tuesday, March 21-24, 2009. There is no entry to the Women's Playoff from the "Last Train" event in January, 2009. The Seniors' Playoff will be held in Sydney, April 16-20, 2009. Target events: The target events for the Australian Seniors team for 2009 are the PABF Seniors Championship, the Zone 7 Seniors Championship and the Seniors Bowl. The dates for the PABF are now scheduled for June 18-28. See Playoff Adjustments above. Location: NSW Bowlers' Club, 99 York Street, Sydney Format: The format will be similar to the one used for the 2007 Seniors Playoff. Entries will be accepted from five teams.
